CASEY RENTZ is a nature writer whose essays have appeared in Slate, Hakai, Knowable, New Scientist, NPR, Smithsonian, Best Science Writing Online book series, and other lovely outlets. Casey is a board member of the Wildwoods Foundation, a Co-founder of SoCal Science Writing, and worked for years as Communications Manager at Informed by Nature, a non-profit for increasing public science literacy. Casey’s other ongoing gigs have included regular contributor at New Scientist and Huffington Post, features stringer at USC’s Viterbi engineering magazine, features writer at UCLA’s U magazine, and daily columnist at WonderHowTo, as well as writing/producing videos at the popular YouTube channel Veritasium. She wrote/produced a video that garnered 98 million views. It was crazy.

Casey is also an accomplished performance artist, which makes sense in the big picture—trust me.

Casey lives in Los Angeles with her husband and kids where she finds beauty in nature and art every day. Find her at www.caseyrentz.com. Follow her at Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
